Our team of drum experts are here to help you bring out the drummer within - meet the tutors who make it happen!!
Dan Smith
Owner/Tutor
Dan brings over 18 years of teaching experience and a wealth of professional expertise to every lesson. Notable credits include working with Clean Bandit and Anthony Russell. Dan also toured with Rugby-based band Speak, Brother, performing on BBC Radio 2 and co-writing their 2018 debut album Young and Brave.
He is a Grade 8 drummer who completed the prestigious Master Performance Course at Drum Tech College in London.
Jake Woodward
Tutor
Jake is not only a sensational drummer but is already a seasoned session player, currently playing for Nova Twins. To have him amongst our ranks is a true honour and I’m excited to see how Dan Smith School of Drums grows with him on board!
Lewis Fogg
Tutor
Lewis is an incredible player, teacher and good friend. Having him as part of the school was inevitable given his brilliant playing and that he’s such an awesome dude! I believe that with Lewis on board, the calibre of teaching we offer is truly is unmatched in the Merseyside area.
Adam Fairclough
Tutor
Easily up there as one of the best Liverpool has to offer so having Adam join us is truly exciting! You will see him playing for Bop Kaballa as well as many others. He is also the son of the legend Peter Fairclough who not only teaches at LIPA but boasts extensive session credits including playing for Keith Tippett.
Daniel Jones
Tutor
Daniel Jones started out as a mature student at DSSD, but graduated to a tutor role given his exceptional progress and ability. As a multi-instrumentalist, Daniel boasts a wealth of valuable music knowledge that ensures students not only learn how to be a drummer, but how to be a musician.
